Final Paper First Draft....UGH!!!!!!!!!!
So....it is now 11:20 pm on a Tuesday and I just got done typing up my first draft for my final paper for college comp. As much as I dislike writing, I have to admit I have had a nice time doing all of the research for may paper. This summer my sister was diagnosed with what doctors believe to be Parkinson's disease. At first I was shocked and very upset with this diagnosis. It still bothers me and I wish I could be closer to her since she lives in Minnesota and I am in Colorado, but especially after doing so much research for my paper I feel a little better that with the right care and treatment she can still live a long life. I am hopeful that since she is still rather young that there may a cure for this disease before he symptoms become out of control.

Getting Caught Up!
So....I can't believe that we are already in week of this term! That means the term is already halfway over! Where has the last five weeks gone? With that said, I am so far behind in my Pharmacology reading that I am having to spend hours reading just to try to get caught up. I think I just finally got done reading the chapters for Unit 3 last night. I don't know what happened, but I am definitely going to go back to using a study schedule once I get caught back up to help me stay on top of my reading. I made one in my first term here at Kaplan and it worked great. I think I just thought that maybe I didn't need it anymore since I have been doing this for a little while. Once I get it made I need to make sure that I follow it so I don't get behind again. Well...off to reading some more! Happy Blogging everyone!

Good Cause
I think that it always makes you feel better when you know you have done something to help someone who could really use the help. I know it does me. I had a great opportunity to experience that this weekend. On Sunday morning when I could have slept in a little longer then normal I decided I was going to get up at 6:45 am so that I could go volunteer at our local Soup Kitchen. This was the first time that I had ever done this, even though I had been wanting to do so for a long time. I got to do it with some great friends and found that it was a very fulfilling feeling, even though I already knew that it would be. It definitely helped open my eyes to the needs of the community. I plan on trying to volunteer at least once every couple of months because I always feel the need to help people. Volunteering at the Soup Kitchen has also gotten me very excited to start working on my Relay for Life team. I started team a couple of months but haven't really gone very far with it yet. I need to really kick it in gear though if I am going to get team members and a goal met before June 17th! My team name is Strides for Hope and if you would like to donate to the team here is our link.

Just like the Soup Kitchen this is something completely new to me so I am a little bit nervous that I'm not going to do well or get done what I need to, so wish me luck!
